Dubu likely arrived in Korea during the late Goguryeo Kingdom, brought by traveling monks. Korea, China, and Japan are famous for consuming dubu, but Korea stands out with its diverse uses. Dubu is now globally recognized, with rumors suggesting it was a staple on President Clinton’s table.

Steven Li (BlueSteven)

Love the food here! Whenever I’m craving Korean food I come to Dubu not to mention it’s next to H-Mart. Can do a little shopping and then get some food after. Service is always great and super quick! Definitely recommend trying the seafood pancake and tonkatsu. The tonkatsu is a large dish definitely will get you full

Aracelis Torres

The food was very good and was served fast. The place was busy and we had to wait around 40 minutes for 5 people. If you don't know about their menu, do some research before ordering.

Hipolito Garcia

The ambiance was cozy and like a home style environment. Amazingly the wait staff accommodated!! It' the best dinning experience for cheap. Highly recommend!!

S S

Very delicious food, with plenty of free and delicious kimchi appetizer. Food served very quickly, table arranged without long wait too. Overall very good experience. Wish to visit every week until every dished is tried once. Food quality is really good, very satisfied.

Tommy Tran

Dubu is my favorite Korean restaurant! Everything on the menu is delicious. My portions are great, so my Fiancee and I always end up coming home with left overs. The only thing I can complain sometimes is the service being inconsistent, but that's typical of asian restaurants that service good food imo.

Loc Pham

Great Korean food in the heart of the city. An altogether enjoyable experience. We went with a kid and the server was more than helpful when we had a small water spill. Each portion is meant to be shared with others because it is rather filling to finish all of the dishes on your own. The fried chicken has more ginger and additional spicing in the sauce than other places, and also comes with sliced almonds on top.

Tiffany T

A decent Korean restaurant in Olde City! We went for lunch on a weekday and there was plenty of parking. The interior is spacious and the food is quite hearty. Everything is served with banchan and food came out quite fast!

Aleksei Martin

A lovely cozy place: balanced taste, nice portions, good and fast service. I recommend tofu - it is really great. If coming on a warm day, try to get a table farther from the entrance - the AC doesn’t work well in closer to the doors.

jonathan G.

Very nice Korean restaurant. Get soy honey fried chicken if you get that appetizer. The sweet chili is good but not as interesting as the rest of the food we got. Great servers! Great atmosphere!

Sonia Donnelly

This was the best meal we had in Philly, and it was not expensive either! The servers were attentive and there were a lot of Asian people eating there which is always a good sign! It's definitely Asian fusion but it had a healthy dose of authentic too. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Cottn Candy

I've gone to many soft tofu restaurants and this place is so far the best! This was my favorite place since I was a kid. The texture of rice is amazing, and portion size is great. They check up on your table often if you need refills on side dishes. Very authentic. Not only the soft tofu, but the taste of every food is very deep and you can tell that they are very professional with food.

Martha Knox

Friendly service, all the food used fresh, high quality ingredients, and prices were very reasonable. We were especially excited that my dad who has health issues could get a delicious meal with no meat or oil. Will definitely go there again!

jessie chen

maybe a bit more expensive than usual prices but the food is bomb. I love the soon dubu and the japchae. I will say that the banchan can be very vinegary but I came for the main meals do I didn't mind

Diana Hsu

Wow! What a beautiful restaurant modeled after traditional Korean buildings! The restaurant was spacious, lots of booth seating, potentially great for large parties, free parking lot.The soon tofu dishes were fresh and delicious..the hot herbal tea was a nice touch.Highly recommended!

Heeho Kim

One of the best authentic Korean restaurant in the region. As a Korean who's born and raised in Seoul, this is my go-to place when I miss my soul foods. This is like typical Korean homemade foods from Mom's 🙂

Service: Friendly and quick.Atmosphere: They have a modest eating area at the back of the store. Although the area is not big, it is definitely comfortable enough to dine in with some friends/family.Food: I ordered two Korean corn dogs, pictured below, and tteokbokki. I found all three dishes to be mediocre.Parking: Street parking

Azure Garcia

The chicken was super yummy and crispy. The flavors of the chicken went really good with the coleslaw in the chicken deluxe sandwich . The sauce that came with the ball tasted really good with the fries and would totally recommend asking for that sauce just for the fries . The atmosphere was really nice and quiet and the employees were super sweet <3

Molly Harper

My husband and I were blown away by this place. Unbelievable food, best we've had in years honestly. We had the crunch dog, wings and chicken sandwich. All were excellent, but the crunch dog with cheese was the absolute best. Prices were also really good and the employees were awesome. 👍👍

April Qiu

Ordered the deluxe chicken burger & Tofu combo. Tasted the BEST crispy burger ever!!! Crunchy and Juicy, will definitely order again. Good service.

Zachary Morris

This is our go-to spot for Korean fried chicken. It’s the best! Love to support these fine people. The menu has so much more than just chicken, as well. The rice bowls, the noodles, the crunch dogs… all are excellent!

This place didn’t disappoint. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, tasty and well seasoned. I had the Korean version of a whiskey sour and it was good. If you’re in or visiting Philly, I would highly recommend checking this place out.

The food was fresh and the meats were fresh and marinated well. The sides and and appetizers were also timely and hot. This is my new go-to for Korean BBQ in the area. Actually this isn't even in my area, We drove 45mins to get here and will do so again. It was great, give it a try.

First of all, both the floor and the table were clean. The meat and side dishes were delicious. Although the male server worked alone, he was quick and friendly.

Pig intestine is a BOMB! Goes so well with white rice. I also like the spicy chicken feet, which is adequately spicy and so soft! Service was nice where the staff would handle all the bbq work.

This is a 10 out of 10 stars!!! The food was out of this world and the service outstanding!!! Another 10 stars! The server was alone running the dinning room and taking care of everyone that was in. We will b back for sure!!!!!! Came back to try more dishes, it was not my favorites or taste but definitely will b back for my favorite braised short ribs .

What a fun restaurant. I surprised my wife with the dinner before a show. The location is perfect for Merriam and other theaters. The colorful walls and upbeat music set the mood. Fresh chicken made on the spot with a good selection of flavors. A huge variety of beers and IPA's sourced both locally and from far. I love the way they season their fries. The dumplings are phenomenal and the rice bowls will fill you up before you know it. Definitely one of my favorite spots to eat at for me and my 6 boys(3 teenage sons and their three friends) who all agree that it's the best-tasting chicken around.

Jenny Nguyen

So glad this place popped up near us! We use to have to drive pretty far for good Korean fried chicken! But not anymore! Great chicken! They're expanding their menu as well, so far the fried chicken is still the best thing on the menu. They also have a wide selection of beer! Very impressed! Definitely check it out if you're looking for good local beer and chicken! Got too excited to eat, didn't take a good picture but it's definitely delicious!

Mimi Ko

Must try chicken!!! So crispy on the outside, delicious tender chicken on the inside. I tried all 3 flavors and they were each uniquely tasty, but I especially enjoyed the soy garlic. I had some leftovers the next day and they were just as crispy and flavorful! Courteous and friendly staff, plenty of space inside to order safely while social distancing, heat lamps outside if you prefer to wait or eat outside.

Daniel G

Great place! The crunchiest chicken I've ever had!!! So tasty! The place is really cozy, workers are friendly and there's a huge selection of pops. Highly recommended!

Vivi Ren

Very good and authentic Korean chicken. Best of the neighborhood for sure. It’s really a hidden gem. We ordered honey and soy. We liked soy better but both were amazing. Very impressive.

Huy D

The BEST place in town to get some Korean Tacos. Not only do they do wonders in their specialty Birria tacos, but they have amazing vegetarian options too. I highly recommend the cauliflower bowls and tacos. And their vegan horchata is out of this world. Along with their fresh cucumber and watermelon juices. You can't go wrong with whatever you get so do yourself a favor and try it out now

Chrissy Rodgers

The food truck was at my job and I had the pork tacos. Omg! So good! Lots of meat and everything was delicious and fresh!

joji powell

Delicious food! The kimchi cheese fries are on point and the bulgogi cheesesteak is a nice take on the cheesesteak. Make sure to get the Korean pickled cucumbers on it for a nice, tangy and slightly spicy taste. Wasn't impressed with the soy garlic wings, but I'd like to try some other flavors. Also looking forward to trying the tacos and korean fried chicken hoagie.

Shade Long

Great time at lunch with family, build your own soup and grill your own food.

Sam

A fantastic Korean BBQ experience! Went with some friends and had a meat centric adventure. When they say all you can eat, they don’t play around. We put them to the test and they kept on coming with it. Absolutely delicious and they let you fully cook it yourself which is a plus (lots of kbbq places in NYC do not). They also have a nice sauce bar to make your perfect concoction. Highly recommend and a great value.

Ciera

I went here for my birthday and loved every second of it. The staff were consistent and always asking if me and my friends needed anything. The food was great and it was a good place to sit down and talk to people it. The bathrooms are very stylish and the inside of the place is very neat a clean. 10/10 and I'll definitely be coming back here💗

Kris Sawyer

Absolutely wonderful! Chose this place last minute over another spot in the area because it had Hotpot AND the BBQ as opposed to just the hotpot. Great selection that came out fast, for four people we actually ordered TOO MUCH food! Highly recommend, make sure you bring your appetite!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I come here for the jajangmyeon (they have several types) and fried mandoo dumplings. Haven't really tried anything else. Been coming here since 2009 or so. My favorite is the bul-jajang that is spicy. 😋Parking: Plenty of parking

Boutavee Kim

currently writing this review while eating… hehe. amazing food and service. we got the sweet and sour pork and shrimp and the black bean noodles. omggggg so delicious and the portions were HUGE. plus our waitress was super sweet!!! will be coming again :)))

Diana Hsu

I am in love with their dumplings! Every type of dumpling in their appetizer menu is phenomenal. The service is consistent and friendly. Easy parking in free lot. Fairly small restaurant so not the best for groups.

Chen Kaijie

If you enjoy authentic Korean homie food, this would be a great option. We had yangjiangpi which is both refreshing and savory. Love the mustard sauce on top! I like Tangsu Saewoo because the flour is light and airy. Ganjajang is also flavored well and not overpowered. The potion overall is generous with very reasonable price. The owner and waitress are super nice. Will come again!

Casey Cha

The best Tangsuyuk in Pennsylvania! And they’re Jjamppong is amazing as well! Impeccable service and all around great place to grab a bite. Plus there serving sizes are big so you can enjoy the food the next day too!!!!
