Mehul Malhotra

Love this place! They have great vegetarian options, the pho is spot on. Our server was very nice as well, if I lived in SD, I’d be a regular for sure.

Kim Holland

Loved this spot! Got the recommendation from a friend. We were in town on vacation and walked from the rental. Super great atmosphere, friendly people and really good food. I wish they had a bit more sake to choose from and maybe a sake flight since they do advertise as a sake house. But I still found something I liked. Definitely would go again

Mason Harness

Bartenders are awesome! The peanut butter shot is awesome! And the food was awesome! So happy my brother move to SD so I can go here more often now. If you're visiting definitely add this to your list.

Gabrielle Cioffi-Dinkel

The spicy garlic wings were absolutely fantastic, so I highly recommend those! The house special fried rice, pho, and cold vermicelli with chicken also great. Even though parking sucks, I'll definitely be back soon.

Damon Smith

Only place I go for Pho in San Diego. The chicken wings are amazing as well as the Fish. Also an amazing beer list. You won't be disappointed.

Korean double fried chicken is tough market in terms of competition! Rounding up to 5 stars because it's just so good and the overall vibe is amazing. I've been to this location quite a few times and 50% of the time the chicken is perfect, crispy the other 50% of the time it is still beyond belief delicious, but just not as delicious as I know it can be. Overall so so so good and would recommend.I love the cocktails as well

Jazmin Rodriguez

This place is now our go-to chicken spot. I went with two friends and I had no idea how big their chicken tenders were. The fries are crispy, and the chicken is juicy and well battered. The kimchi rice was a bit spicy for me but delicious. We also got their dumpling which were ok. The sugar daddy soju was sooo good! We are all looking forward to coming back.

Shane Poznikoff

Chicken wing, chicken wing and beer. We are outside in the covered seating area. There was a cute doggy out there as well. The staff brought out a water bowl just for the doggy. I like this place.

Nathan Chicken (Nathan Is Cool)

The food is bussin bussin. I have gone there multiple times, trying new and improved dishes. Honestly, I could eat their food forever! The service is amazing too! Everyone is so nice and respects each and every customer. The vibe is very enjoyable, and I love everyone having a great time. 1000/10 recommend going.

Chloe Metschar

Amazing Korean fried chicken! I got the OG dry rub seasoning, and it was the perfect amount of spice. The SDSU ale paired perfectly with it as well. 10/10 would highly recommend!

This establishment offers a unique dining experience where traditional Korean barbecue meets street food culture, featuring inventive dishes like bulgogi and kalbi served in tacos, burritos, or rice bowls for a delicious and memorable fusion.

Vaisaur

The food was amazing, the bulgogi is slightly on the sweeter side but i dont mind that at all! The environment is a bit loud but thats fair given that everyones gotta talk over the sizzling food. I wish i had taken pics of the food but i hilarously only grabbed these ones. Absolutely coming back here!

maddie sandler

My favorite KBBQ in San Diego. The meat is such high quality and everything including sides is always fresh and amazing. Great service every time I’ve been. I also feels like the air is really fresh; some KBBQ places feel really stuffy and Smokey but it was well ventilated and nice.

Arthur Mendez DDS

I love it this Korean BBQ has a great service and I highly recommend the brisket and bulkogi meet also the beer has a delicious taste complement the paring with the food it’s a wonderful place to enjoy with your love ones family, friends or coworkers it’s a great place to enjoy

Andrew Lee

Good 2hr AYCE kbbq spot. Reasonable prices and a good selection of meat. The best part is the unlimited sides, they don’t skimp on the portion size and the selection is pretty good. Also after 9PM they have a very good deal on AYCE (27$ i think?) and 4$ draft beers. Menu is available on their website.

Brandon Carter

Our go to AYCE Korean bbq. This Korean bbq has the best meat quality of any AYCE Korean bbq in San Diego, great side dishes as well. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the cheese fondue, they need a good nacho cheese instead of the kraft shredded cheese.

At Bonchon, we foster a dynamic, authentic, and unapologetically unique atmosphere that reflects the spirit of a close-knit family.

Darlene Yao

Service was outstanding. They have such a friendly and attentive staff. We ordered the 20 piece wings, half soy garlic/half yangnyeom. Both flavors were delicious. Yangnyeom was a tad spicy for me, but it was manageable with the pickled radish. The seasoned fries were crispy and flavorful. Japchae was just average, but that's totally fine since they specialize in wings and that was awesome!

Jon Arbar

If you want delicious fried chicken, look no more. I have to eat here every time I'm in the area. It's super delicious. The soy garlic flavor wings are amazing. The spicy ones are very spicy but also delicious. The seasoned fries are an awesome side. Highly recommend

rashmi menon

My fav korean fried chicken place since 2019. I love everything about their dishes. I am pretty much a regular customer here during the pandemic and their wings really make my day.I get their spicy chicken wings with coleslaw and their tteokbokki is very spicy but we love it

CHI

Love their Korean fried chicken and Tteokbokki. Spicy flavor is my favorite! I would say their fried chicken is the best in SD!

Cindi Carter

This food is amazing! I am obsessed! It is not overpriced for what you get. The Korean tacos are my favorite, but the fried chicken and potstickers are great too. I've tried several other things from here and they are all delicious. The service is quick and you don't have to wait long for your order. I recommend this 100%!

Mike Mudgett

This restaurant is located inside the HMart, and is usually pretty busy but is worth the wait. The only non-meat options are the rice cake dog (which I have not gotten yet) and the mozzarella dog, which is great with or without potatoes. I would be happy to see a veggie dog at some point! Make sure to load up with sauces and toppings, they really make the experience.

leah m.

service is a bit slow sometimes but it's understandable. wide variety of corn dogs such as the traditional mozzarella dog and more experimental ones like the squid ink dog, it really makes you want to try them all. great variety of sauces too !! the strawberry lemonade is a tad bit too sweet for my taste .. but i get it everytime anyways so it's definitely worth a try !! try the dogs with sugar coating and spicy cheddar ... you wont regret it <3

Sydney Nitzel

Super yummy! Nice and helpful staff. Highly recommend

Chialin Wen

My best Korean hot dog! The crust is super crunchy outside and chewy inside because it’s made with rice! Love the classic sausage and mozzarella!

sjoerd solleveld

Best Korean Corn Dog in San diego. Shrimp stick was great as well.

Immerse yourself in a culinary experience that harmoniously blends traditional Korean flavors with a modern twist. Choi’s invites you to savor a delightful fusion of tastes in a vibrant atmosphere, making it the perfect destination for those seeking a unique and flavorful dining adventure in the heart of the city.

Blake Berman

Choi’s has a variety of amazing food options, served family style, to share amongst friends or family. So many delicious tastes and flavors, it was truly a unique experience! The service was great and I would consider it upscale dining. The vibe was minimalistic, modern, and comfortable. The soju was delicious and so smooth as well. I forgot to take pictures of the food before we ate it, so all I was able to capture were two empty bottles of soju. This goes to show how irresistible the food was — we couldn’t hold ourselves back from diving right in. Lastly, the prices for everything were perfect. Not too expensive, but just enough to represent the restaurants top-quality experience.

Charley Noh

Vibes at Choi’s were super nice for a date night. My wife really liked the octopus and the fried mushrooms, but we loved the Busan Diego cocktail the most! If I come back next time, I’ll probably try one of their wines!

Jack Spitser

We went to the soft opening of Chois tonight and it was amazing.. exactly what this part of gaslamp needs, immaculate vibes, delicious food, good drinks and just a great overall atmosphere. Stop by for a great meal and a fun time if you’re near east village and gaslamp!

John Y Kim

It was a great place to gather for an evening gathering. It was perfect for socializing while having dinner with friends. Above all, I was truly impressed by the modern interior atmosphere, the sincere welcome to guests, friendly service, and delicious food. Above all, the fried chicken and mushrooms were perfect for my taste. And of all the San Diego restaurants I've been to so far, the cleanest and most cozy bathroom made the food even more enjoyable. It was just a little difficult to park, but everything was satisfactory.

Jaden Lee

Absolutely amazing spot. Great atmosphere, clean interior, and most important of all, fantastic food. Cannot wait to come back here. Also, the tofu jorim… absolutely fire 🔥10/10

Website: https://tabushabu.com/

Established in 2012 by Jeff Chon, Tabu Shabu emerged from a quest for top-notch Asian cuisine featuring thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Noticing a gap in his neighborhood’s dining scene, Jeff, an experienced restaurant operator, sought to bring a childhood favorite to life—Japanese-style hot pot with premium cuts of beef, fresh vegetables, and seafood. Taking over a small Eastside Costa Mesa space, he founded Tabu Shabu to fill this culinary void.

Breana McGowan

Menu is smaller than it used to be and they made some changes but it is still delicious. The meat quality is going to be hard to beat elsewhere. They used to offer free 2nd plate on veggies if you wanted more as well as broth if you got low. That didn’t happen this time. However, we were so full by the time we got to the end that we didn’t need it. The staff was friendly and doing their best to keep up with a full place even though they looked short-staffed. Another good experience.

Michelle

So fun to cook your food in a hot pot...my young son really enjoyed learning how to maneuver the chop sticks with the help of the staff. Took the rest of our meal home n made a ramen.

Danielle M

So fun, I really enjoyed our experience here. The staff was super helpful, which was great since we were newbs. The spicy miso broth is the way to go in my opinion. Also I liked all the beef options. I love the seating too, all around the bar...really great.

John E.

This place was not even on our radar but it is now. We had planned on going to a favorite restaurant but we got a late start and couldn't make it before they closed. We did a search for restaurants in the area open later and Tabu Shabu came up in the search. We decided to give it a shot and were not just pleasantly surprised but shocked at how good it is. The service was top notch. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced for what we got. This definitely has made my list of go to restaurants in the area.

Rachael Rae

This place is so cool! Everyone orders separately, which threw me off at first, but it was great being able to choose your own broth and ingredients. The service was a little awkward - we asked for the chili drops and were given sriracha and then the drops were offered without request to the people sitting next to us. So we were confused, but we would definitely go back and had a great meal overall!

Catherine Hunt

Our first time eating here. We ordered the pork hotpot and seafood pancakes. Everything was delicious including the sides. The only thing that we would improve is to serve the pork bones with more meat or at least have more meat in the hot pot.

Daniella Corrales

So so so so delicious! We loved being there. We felt welcomed and invited to go in, loved the fact that the menu is not huge with so many options because you can tell that they are great at what they do. We ordered the spicy pork stew (Large) and the seafood pancake (hemul jeon and the Gam ja tang) so good and is not crazy spicy. It was a bit too much food for the 4 of us all girls. Totally recommend and invited to come back! Loved it!

Stephen Rhee

Our go-to place for korean food in SD. The pork hotpot is obviously good, but we actually come more for other food like naengmyun and bibimbap because all the food here tastes closest to home. The banchan is also really good, unlike some other places where they put out a couple side dishes because they have to. All in all, if you want food that tastes closest to what you get in Korea, this is the place.

Marie R

Our first time having korean hot pot and it was really tasty! We ordered the Gam-Ja-Tang with add-on udon and seasoned napa cabbage. The pork was fall off the bone soft and the vegetables were fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a very enjoyable experience.

Trish Ang

Gamjatang was so good! Seafood pajeon was a little too greasy for me.

Yukdaejang, the inaugural U.S. location of a prominent Korean chain, focuses on yukgaejang—a zesty beef soup featuring silky cellophane noodles. This robust Korean soup is a heartwarming delight, packed with meat and vegetables, boasting a bold, fiery-red, and spicy flavor profile that provides warmth from head to toe.

Jinny Lee

I got the cold noodles (naengmyeon) and dumplings here. I used to go to Buga to get my cold noodle fix, but I think I found my new favorite place. Their menu has diverse Korean dishes, so I plan on going back until I have tried all the other items (really want to try the bossam). I was so excited to eat the food, I did not even take pictures (I usually do).The interior of the restaurant is clean and bright. It looks like your average Korean restaurant. The service is very fast and friendly. The wait to be seated is super long, but I think it is worth it.

Baba F.

Hands down some of the best Korean food I’ve ever had! All of the soups, bulgogi, kimchi, kalbi, really excellent! Also, the owner has been here two of the past times we’ve been here and she is really welcoming and hospitable. Highly recommend, very long wait times on weekend nights so just be prepared for that.

hansub

Proper korean food in san diego. The yukgaejang with ramen noodles is great. The banchans are great. Skip the bossam though. I don't like it here. It doesn't even seem like korean bossam to me.

Brittney

This was an amazing dining experience. The food and service were so exceptional. I love that the owner is the front of house supervisor. It’s so hard to find quality food and service these days, so this restaurant was very impressive.

Elle S.

So glad Yuk Dae Jang has opened up in SD. More restaurant options in our town. The yookgaejang is so flavorful and worth a try. We’ll be back to try other dishes.

Literally my favorite place. The food is 100/10. Staff are always super sweet. I wish I lived closer so I could eat their bowl everyday.

Anna K

Oh my god, what a hidden gem at Liberty Station! I came here after a coffee date with a friend and decided to give it a chance. I am a huge Korean food critic since I grew up going to Seoul my entire life and enjoyed the best home-cooked Korean fare made by my grandma and parents. I decided to go with the bulgogi rice bowl per the owner’s suggestion. When I dove into my bowl, I couldn’t believe my mouth—such authentic flavors, tender *everything*, and pure party in my mouth—all at a very reasonable price. It was such a pleasure interacting with the owner as well! I couldn’t have had a better experience getting Korean food from an unassuming stand amidst countless other food stands in the market. Don’t pass this one up. I’ll definitely be back!

Piet

Bopjo is an interesting twist to Korean food. It can be a little pricey, but isn't all delicious food? The staff is friendly and they take their time preparing your dish so you know that it'll come out hot and fresh. Definitely recommend making a stop by here.

Alexander Fraser

I had the spicy pork rice bowl and fried Mandoo! Delicious! The pork was the right amount of spicy! The japchae was a delicious topping! The fried Mandoo was crispy and tasty with the sauce on top! If you're at Liberty Station this place is a must try!! Priced reasonable too!

Erika Neukam

Visiting from Arizona, I came across this cute complex of local restaurants/food venders. There are so many options but! Korean BBQ always has my heart. So happy I tried this spot, I'm surprised they don't have 5 stars across the board. I got the beef bulgogi rice bowl and it was amazing and well worth the money. Try it if you're in town 😍

Following the construction, the business thrived as patrons embraced the inviting ambiance, distinctive appearance, and delectable flavors offered by Friend’s House Restaurant.

J Alex

Amazing food at this place, authentic Korean cuisine. It was a bit packed so our table was ignored in terms of service, had to hail down the server multiple times for napkins and water. The rice cake was really good, not too gochujang-y if you know what I mean. The BBQ options seemed really good and it was delicious, the portion of meat seems pretty decent for its price, kimchi jigae was pretty good but just not my taste, if you want something less acidic, I’d recommend the Soon dobu(tofu soup). Great place overall.

Kriza C.

I've been going to Friends House since my college days in the early 2000s. Each time I visit, I'm treated to great food and friendly staff. The seafood fried rice was already delicious when I first had it 15+ years ago, and the recipe has only improved since then. My husband and I would occasionally have lunch dates at Friends House between classes before we got married. Fast forward to today: We just had dinner there with our toddler, where she was enjoying their sides and especially their R&D Soup

Justin Chua

Very much enjoyed our first visit here. The service was very attentive and generous with their banchan (side dishes). Our waiter gave us dessert on the house which was appreciated. Would’ve preferred a runny egg for the bimbimbap but still a good dish. Everything was tasty. 4.4/5 stars.

Grace Alcaraz

Service was impeccable while dining with a kid. They provided rice and seaweed packs for the toddler while I got to enjoy my grown up dishes. Checked on us frequently and were super attentive. They even offered us ice cream sandwiches at the end. Thanks to the team tonight!

Irene Palacios

Stopped in for dinner with my friend. We split everything. The steamed dumplings came up first. Fresh and hot. Then we had the "Army Stew" and the kimchi fried rice. We honestly didn't realize we could split one soup but was def worth. Very flavorful, spice was just right. Highly recommended

Originally went to another place that was booked and they suggested to come here. They were kind, attentive, and fairly busy. Service was very fast. It’s a quaint, intimate space. I didn’t know I was ordering all you can eat but I picked option B. The spicy pork was the winner this time as every other meat needed flavor via marinade or a better sauce. Prime rib was tender. .my only dilemma is that the grill is changed often but the oil doesn’t help with the meat sticking way too much to get a good sear. I like that we didn’t need to cook all our vegetables because we had so many prepared sides. Would definitely come again.

Dawn & Rizzo & Papa

Good Korean BBQ. Price point was good. We showed up at 10:45 and felt rushed for their last call at 11:15. We had the $27.99 special. Soft Tofu was amazing! We had the brisket, garlic pork belly, sausage & bulgogi beef…..all were tender and delicious. However, the marinated ribs were a bit tough. Banchan was al good!

Ceejay XY

This place was great as it does close pretty late (12am). The atmosphere and setting was like a scene straight out of a movie lol. The quality of the meats were above average. The side dishes were well seasoned, and the soft tofu soup was superb. This is the first time we have seen rice paper as a side dish, so we used it as a rollup for our meats and it was so tasty! yum yum! The staff were very fast and attentive. Overall we had a great time. A+

Breana McGowan

I wish they had more side dishes but the quality of meat for the cheaper option of the AYCE menu was really good. Their beef bulgogi and spicy pork was delicious. The fish cake side dish is some Of the best we have had in a while. The kimchi is young and will appease people that don’t like it aged and sour. Skip the salad as it’s made with cabbage, unless you like it like that. The place was half full on a Saturday afternoon which is always a good sign.

Steve Tong

Decided to go for Menu A and we weren't disappointed. Service was fast and they brought out our orders quickly. We didn't have to wait long to be seated as well. Good food, great service.

Had lunch at Woomiok today and was blown away by their authentic Korean flavors. Their hearty soups warmed the soul. Sooooo many delicious (free refill) side dishes too. We ordered two soups and the short ribs with melted cheese. Gyoza was amazing too. Highly recommend for anyone seeking an authentic Korean experience.

Souvik Bhattacharjee

Great food. Had authentic Korean food for the first time in my life. It did live up to my expectations. Started with five different kinds of kimchi (all of which were quite tasty) followed by La Galbi (a barbecued beef ribs dish) and a spicy Octopus dish. Both were served on hot stone bowl. I liked the octopus more than the bbq ribs. Also, given it was a Sunday, there was a little bit of waiting to get a table.

Bruce Kornfeld

So authentic - Bibimbob amazing, fried dumplings so fresh. I was the only non-Korean in the whole place. Not sure why they don’t get 5 stars across the. Board. Very friendly waitstaff!

Jing

The food is delicious! It's fresh and tastes great, and the portion size is generous. The service is also satisfactory.

Yen Tran

We got the bossam -braised pork belly with oysters. The portion was big enough for 4 people! The pork belly was super tender, but the kimchi could be better. We also got the beef bone soup with brisket, ox tail and shank: this was so amazing!! You can salt it to taste and add green onions. The soup was rich and comes out piping hot

Daniel Shang

A great place to grab authentic Korean food! We go about once a month honestly, the KBBQ and spicy army stew are standouts and we always leave feeling satisfied! Every meal comes with the sides (banchan) which is critical.

Vincent Cheung

An intoxicating dinner despite having no alcohol, the food was simply amazing. The staples like the banchan and rice were a perfect compliment to the flavor bursting entrees. I ordered the oyster soondubu and gaejang (raw marinated crab) combo. This was my first time having raw marinated crab and it was so good once I started I couldn’t stop. I only really slowed down once I ran out of rice which I proceeded to get more of. The crab was spicy, fragrant, had a delightful bite to the flavor. The whole group was in consensus, this was better than the average Korean restaurant experience.

Lisa

Great Korean bbq place! We had the original BBQ for 3 people and an order of Japchae. Everything was so good. The meat quality was a lot better than other places. I will definitely be going back!

Sya

Delicious dolsot bibimbap with tofu!! Nice service! Easy parking.

Carmen Chan

Amazing!! Get their galbi! It was so tasty! We ordered the raw crab and the waiter looked at us confused cause everyone except for me was not Asian haha. Crab was so flavorful with the sauce, interesting dish for sure. The goat stew was decent but ohmygosh the galbi was bomb!

I've came here the in the last 30 days 4 times and I'm always wowed. The marinated meats have a lot of flavor. The service is great. They're quick to run to your table and serve you. They do keep it really cold in there.

Margot

Tasty Korean restaurant specialized in BBQ. The place is modern and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. All dishes are delicious, portions are quite large.

Adam Ghahate

Recently visited after the renovations and it was excellent. Fast service. Good food. Multiple staff checked on us frequently, which was very appreciated. I just wish the fish cakes were included in the banchan sides like the old menu. This is our favorite KBBQ restaurant.

Ivana Thng

The meat is high quality and comes in pretty large portions. Their steamed egg and banchan are really nice too. The set for 2 people was too much for us though, even though we already got the cheapest option ($54.99).

emme coco

This place is a classic. Great service great quality we love coming here for kbbq
